Right, I now have my light meter but unfortunately having read the instructions I still have no idea what I am doing. It seemed very simple when it was demonstrated at the TP convention!!

So........

I set the ISO to that which I am using then......

nope nothing after "then"....... I'm lost

RTFM!

Slide the incident cone over the sensor, point at the light source, hit the measure button. Use the up and down buttons to find your desired apeture or shutter speed.

Seeemples.

TFM consists of one piece of cardboard 2.5x4" in size that just shows what each button does :)

But

Thanks, I should be able to work it out from these two.

Havent used mine for a while so i hope this right...

Set the ISO to 100 if outdoors.

Set to ambient mode (Sun icon) with "T"

Set suitable shutter speed 1/60 or 1/125 depending on focal length.

Press measure button.

Use the up and down buttons to get suitable aperture F4/F5.6/F8.

Read shutter and aperture. If shutter speed too slow up ISO.

Cheers. I have it sorted now. Just waiting for the floor paint so it's moving slowly forwards towards the studio being done.

Flash is slightly different. You have two other icons for flash, one is where you connect your cable/trigger and when you hit the measure button it fires the flash, the other gives you something like 10secs to trigger the lights yourself.
