On the basis there are a few watch buffs on here:
I need to get a new watch and want to keep the price to sub £300. I keep seeing the Seiko Orange Monster mentioned and it looks ugly enough and quirky enough so I think I'm sold!
Two questions - firstly there seem to be an old and new model (SKX781J1 and SRP309J1 respectively). Are there any reasons why I shouldn't go for the new model? (different mechanism and can be hand wound...etc)
Secondly - where to buy? If I've understood correctly it's not officially imported by Seiko into the UK - there are a few UK places selling it for around the £250 mark but I've found an outfit called Creation Watches (.com) that is doing it for £160 delivered and I assume that it will come from the Far East. Even once I've paid VAT and admin to DHL (no duty) it still comes in at under £200. Does anyone have any comments on Creation Watches or alternative suppliers they could recommend? Thanks
