Seems too good to be True!

From pics I've seen produced with it, it seems like a decent wee lens, it'll just be a grey market one...

This is a great lens for the money, got the nick name the "nifty two fifty" when it first came out, It's sharp, af is pretty fast and and it's a very usefull range. I bought my other half one and it's never off his camera.

Ive just bought one of these from ebay for the same price as your link, Its a budget lens, Jessops , Currys and Comet sell them for around £260.00 .
I was pleasantly suprised ,build quality was more than good for the price the focusing was fast infact i cant really say anything bad about it considering the price.

Couple i took with it today judge for yourself

Likewise, I've just today received this same lens after much hunting around for prices, and I bought it from the exact same link posted above, from "trustsaleuk" on Ebay. Ordered Monday night, arrived this (Thursday) morning - not bad at all!

Seems in top condition, and that's the best price I could find (with a 1-year seller warranty). There are others on Ebay for £10 less, but the warranty is only 3 months. Could have been a refurb - if mine is I certainly can't tell - but decided to take the chance anyway. Heard some horror stories about ordering through Simply Electronics (who are selling via Amazon.co.uk), so avoided that option. Next choice was Kerso but unfortunately his price was quite a bit higher, though there would have been no risk there.

For the price, I think that either this lens or the Sigma 70-300mm DG APO Macro are the best choices, though the Sigma has no IS.

I sacrificed the extra 50mm for that 4-stop IS - glad I did too! I took a handheld test shot at 1/3 second earlier, at 250mm, and it came out not far from pin-sharp, much to my surprise!

I too ordered from "trustsaleuk" apparently they have a warehouse in the UK but the seller is based abroad i only gathered this from reading the comments in his feedback .

It does come with a 1 year UK warranty and a lot of the other seller`s were selling refurbs you had to read the bottom of the listings to realise this, all i can say is mine was sealed and looks like new and i am really pleased with it.

Some bargain lenses from that seller, 28-135mm IS USM for £235 delivered and 18-55mm IS for £100 delivered. I'm very tempted by the 28-135mm but I dont think it will be wide enough for me on the 50D.

If I ever get the funds to upgrade to a 40D I'll be getting one of these and selling my 55-200 non is with the 300D

Am definitely thinking about it, as am after that lens when funds come in.

I see they have it at Mifsuds for about same price.

I've had one of these for about a year now. Superb lens for the price, I think I got mine for a little more than that from Camerabox when supplies were limited. It lives on my camera and most of my shots are taken with it. I also use it for Macro stuff with a Raynox.

Great to see all the replies to this thread.

It really does look like a good lens.

As I am not digital, like I said, it's no good for me but I spotted it when trawling through the ending soon section and just thought I would share it.

Cheers.., ;)
