Seems it is OK to use a mobile, in hospitals now.

Sat in the Hospital for hours this morning, place was heaving. Absolutely loads on their phone, obviously updating their social media, as me and the missus were both doing. Loads playing games, and some using them for their intended purpose, and talking on them. Hospital staff were using them also, for various purposes. Big signs plastered on the walls, saying no mobile phones. Going on to say, all phones must be turned off, as they can interfere with hospital devices.

Strange having signs saying that, as they offer free wi fi. Obviously to keep people happy, while they wait all that time..

The consultant I saw last Thursday was using his mobile ;) And so was I :)

They are pretty relaxed places now I think. They know most who are in there have problems, so probably leave them and keep them happy, may be the thinking :).

The electronic equipment the hospital's have today will have been designed with mobile phones in mind unlike the equipment they had 10 years ago.

Just the signs look so prominent, and still look shiny and new :).

Noticed a sign while we were up having our 20 week scan last week which said something along the lines of "You are permitted to use mobile phone in most parts of the hospital, however please observe signs in designated areas where we ask you not to use them"

There's also free WiFi in certain areas too.

Medway Memorial will supply you with a PAT tested charger if you're an inpatient and stuck without one.

You're fine in the majority of places, especially out patient areas now. There will be signs where you cannot use it though

We have free patient wi-fi as well now (which we jump on to as well as mobile coverage can be a little iffy)...
