Yes
Without bthe beans of course.

Has anyone found/tried one, are they any good?

Can't find one, the usual travel pillows etc don't fit the bill.

I have a standard bean-bag from Camerabeanbags, bit it takes up TOOOOOO much room, the equivalent, were it inflatable would be ideal.

What the heck is that supposed to mean?

This was a genuine enquiry, might seem stupid but a sensible answer would have been nice from a 'member' with 13,814 messages.

I feel sure there must be a market waiting for an alternative to the ubiquitous bean bag, that is both 'sable', 'inflatable' and yet still retains the chacteristics of said BB.

My BB measures approx 9" x 6" x 6"....try getting that in your camera bag.

Dave my reply was a genuine attempt to help ... I don't confess to know exactly what you are looking for but I made an attempt to find something 'blow-up' that might work for you. I have no idea why you think I was attempting to be anything other than helpful, but there you go I'll try to be less helpful in the future.

Beanbags are used for a reason imo instead of anything inflatable. Beanbags let you shape them and then are reasonable stable when you rest something on them... I don't see an inflatable behaving in the same way at all.

A half inflated shape of any kind will flop about all over the place and even if you inflate it a lot, there will still be some give in it.

How about things like blow up camping cushions or pillows. Even some inflatable swimming aids.

My big dinghy has inflatable cushions (keeps my bum out of puddles) which are pretty thick and wouldn't pop easily.

Yes, an inflatable 'rest' that could possibly be put to use as a camera rest ... it isn't purpose made for a camera but maybe it could have been adapted ... I don't know and to be honest now I really don't care.

He didn't realise that the two words 'any good' were actually a link and assumed that was your reply. Talk about crossed wires.

If its weight that's the issue fill it with poly beads. Does the job and light as.

Take a foam mat, like those camping ones and cut to the relevant size to fit in your bag. Then roll it up tight and strap?

To be fair to Dave it's not obviously a link.
He clicked on the link otherwise he wouldn't have posted the message regarding size of the foot rest.

Just a bit of a bell end reply to someone who was trying to help.

Well it's the format that the forum software uses to link to external sources ... but even if not, that's no way to respond IMO.

Take an empty bean bag and fill it with whatever's to hand - sand, gravel, soil, socks.

Bottom line is that beanbags are designed to serve a specific purpose. Replacing them with anything is always a compromise. If inflatable bean bags worked you'd be able to buy them.

Either carry one or find something that will do enough for your needs. Its not hard.

I've got two sets of inserts for mine. One filled with polystyrene balls which weighs sweet FA and I just clip it to my rucksack and a second set filled with split peas which is quite heavy and I only use it if I don't have to carry it very far.

Both are fine. The light one provides enough support but isn't quite as good as the heavy one. But its way better than any inflatable pillow or similar.

OK chaps, point 1 - gramps was trying to be helpful, that much is fairly darned obvious, so can we leave that particular discussion to die a death now please.

Point 2 - as Gary said above, if inflatable camera supports were of any use at all, someone would be selling them by now. Anything inflatable is inherently unstable [whether fully or partially inflated] and that pretty much defeats the object of having a support. Several possible alternatives have been suggested that are pretty cheap and cheerful and will save space if you want to give it a go. You won't waste too much money if it doesn't work [not to mention it will still serve its original purpose] and you can come back and gloat if if does the trick.

You can buy empty bags that you can fill with sand when you get to the other end. Then empty again for your return journey

I was looking at same thing so looked on amazon and bought a pack of 4 juggling type bean bags very colourfull so cant be lost so will keep one for myself and give others to my grandchildren hope that helps butt
