see-through laptop

hahahaha sorry i cant help but that is a good idea for a picture!

I get the concept of it.

take a photo, set it as your desk top, but I don't know where i'd go with the rest, I have a feeling it'll all go wrong with putting it in the right place.

but yeh, its a good idea.

setup your tripod, put the laptop somewhere with the lid closed and take a shot, open the laptop lid and take another shot - In photoshop put the two shots together and cut out the screen and closed lid :)

Use remote or timer so the camera doesn't move and be careful opening the laptop lid.

any tips on getting a photo like this? they seem pretty hard to do :(

:thinking:Just a quick thought. Set background of windows desktop on laptop to a colour not included in icons etc. Take a photo of laptop.
Open photoshop, and open picture of cat on bed. Drag laptop picture on to layer above cat. Select background colour on laptop screen and delete it. Cat should then show through transparent layer. I haven't tried this out - but it may work.

looking at that I'd say, take a photo of the cat on the bed then get rid of cat ( if you look on the screen of the laptop the quilt creases are different), place laptop on the bed and change the laptop wallpaper to a plain colour and take photo, then in photoshop colour select the laptop screen and with layers combine the images,
will try that later and see

doh 1 11 to late you beat me hillwalkinggirl

I'll have to buy a laptop now, just for this type of photography :(

Very clever...

I'm going to give this a go when I next time the weather is pants and I'm wondering what to do!

I posted my attempt yesterday...

My son and I had a bit of fun doing this yesterday morning - in a bit of a rush too but it didn't turn out too bad...

Must think of some other applications for this type of thing.
