Securing camera bag zip

Can anything be done to secure a camera bag whilst not making it excessively difficult for me to get in and out of?

I'm looking at fast access bags but I'm slightly concerned that fast access for me means fast access for other people if I'm out in the city and not paying 100% attention to the bag on my back or on the floor at my feet (on the train etc.).

As far as I'm aware it's either fast access or padlock and slow. A padlock also obviously advertises you have something to protect. I'm just thinking something small which links two zip pulls together that perhaps has a certain knack to release. This probably doesn't exist but it'd be nice if there was such a thing so that I can keep quick access without taking the backpack off my back but not make it easy pickings for others.

Not sure if it's what you mean but I have used a freezer bag tie a few times through the zips and twisted a bit. Stops the zip coming open and would maybe alert me if anyone was trying to get in my bag quickly.

Are you talking rucksack style?

If so look at the Lowepro flipside or any that have an all weather cover which you can flick off quickly & easily.

For back/side bags ive just bought the Tamrac Velocity 6x for cycling/city. Sling style inc. waist strap for limit gear. Top opening, zip opens on body side plus covered by a fabric edge. Lightweight and holds a grown ups Dslr plus other lenses.

Instead of a zip round the outer side, the zip is on the side nearest your back. You can't get in to it without taking it off.

I use an "S" type clip - cost me 50p from a camping shop a couple of years ago. One side of the S gets clipped to the handle of the bag and the other goes through both zip tags when it's done up properly.
