Secrets of the scammers

Because we don't want our eyes plucked out, it's bad enough having our fingers cut off ( and, yes, I do know that Apples fingerprint scanner really works on blood capillaries or somesuch, not actual prints).

Is that an actual, genuine risk? Right now, somebody could have the password to my 1Password vault by threatening far less.

Why don't we have retinal scanning yet?

Because despite what the movies would have you believe, retinas, though unique, change often due to some medical conditions; some of them temporary, some of them permanent.

I find not having any cash in the bank and having my credit cards maxed out, and a f***ed credit rating fairly effective...

I thought it was obviously not a serious observation.

also whatever the recording technique - retinal, fingerprints etc after its scanned its just ones and zeroes and if it can be read it has to be stored, and if it can be stored it can be hacked... this is why Hollywood notwithstanding things like the nuclear launch codes don't actually require the presidents iris scan - but do require double authorisation by two different parties using a memorised code group

of course that's a bit overkill for acessing a bankacount ;)

Just use a password manager. I have used 1Password for years without problems. Trouble is most people won't pay for a useful program - that's fine by me because the less 1Password is used the less interesting it is to anyone to break it.
All these wheezes along the lines of correcthorsebatterystaple and humptydumpties don't work because although easy to remember individually you still need a different one for each website, so you will need to record them somewhere.
No you don't. If you have forgotten a password, you can reset it. Very easy for sites I don't use that often.

I did wonder why biometric passports didn't use retinal scans. I assumed it was something to do with cancer ;) Or money.
