Second shooter kit

If you had a second shooter, would you prefer them to have the same brand of kit as yourself?

ie if you use Canon, would you prefer them to have Canon?

I know you wouldn't be able to share lenses etc so would still need your own backup kit.

Would it make editing all the images together easier, or make no difference at all?

To be honest as long the 2nd shooter has similar spec camera and kit - I dont think brand matters - I would say the style of shooting matters more and whether he/she is a good photographer and knows how to use the camera properly.

Photoshop will happily process both NEF and RAW formats - so editing shouldn't be an issue.

thanks, I suppose you just need to get the time sync correct on each camera too

It does help to have the same kit. It means you can use each others lenses, batteries, chargers etc if needs be. Having the same camera also helps when editing as the images will be the same quality.
