Hi All,

picked up my 500d yesterday and having fun playing around with it and the standard kit lens. Just a quick question what would be a good second lens to get, ive been looking at the Canon EF 55-200mm f/4.5-5.6 II USM and may be able to get it for a good price. Any thoughts??

The 55-250 is a great addition to the kit lens. I have just sold one on here as I have upgraded, but I think there may be a couple up for sale still.
 
I can not offer any advice on the 55-200, but the 55-250 can be had for around £140. I sold mine for £125 on here, so if that is in your range, then I would go for it.
 
can get the 250 for £145 on ebay from a UK seller mate im in the midst of looking for one
 
Def worth saving up the extra for the 55-250IS lens.

Think Ian (Kerso) on here is around £170 for a brand new one. :thumbs:

The quality has alot to do with the lenses, as I found out when I first started. I bought a really cheap Sigma 55-200 or so, and it was really really crap.
 
I had a 55-250mm a while back and it's a great first telephoto lens. The EF 70-200mm L f2.8 or f4 will probably be the next lens that you fantasise over :naughty:

Can I ask where you bought this lens For £120 as I am interested in getting one.
