Second hand Nikon 300 f4

I'm looking for a mint used Nikon 300 f4 and the going rate seems to be bout £900. New they are about £1050. Is this used price too high - Seems so to me?
Any opinions as to what is a fair price?

Sounds high to me. Funnily enough I was thinking of selling mine the other week and thought that £730-£750 would be a good price, then I did a couple of airshows bank holiday weekend and unsure if i want to sell now lol!!!

Its a great lens, but would think twice if over £800

I'm thinking that the secondhand price is what businesses think they will get for this lens and that makes it the "going rate", ie the price at which the lens will sell. A brand new one for an extra £150 and a full 2 year warranty looks like a no brainer.

MPB Photographic has one for £729, so the price you've found seems very high.

That's good. eBay prices seem to be around £750ish.

Don't forget that eBay will always be more due to fees. That price in classifieds is a steal though.
