There's been a few good ones over the last few hours  up to all those late entries. Not long now :D

ENTRIES CLOSED

Well I think thats about it guys and girls. A definate triumph of quality over quantity in this challenge. Huge round of applause for those that made the effort and it has to be reiterated, made excellent efforts, I don't think there is a 'poor' picture in this thread. :notworthy: Though John, your could have found a few more birds  ;)

I shall make my deliberations over the next few hours, and reveal the winner later this evening. Thanks you all for your entries

Hmmm. I did think about the birds of a feather one briefly, but the starlings didn't want to play ball...

Really enjoyable competition  Great theme (already said that before) but really made me think and so impressed by the overall quality of the images.

Well done to all those who entered  looking forward to the next one, this is the kind of thing that offers a vehicle to move your photography experience forward and take you out of your comfort zone

I whole heartedly agree with this. My experience of photography is so narrow (flora and fauna), that I need a push to try other things.

It was really interesting to see the ideas that everyone came up with, too.

Thats what I'm looking for, need to get out of my comfort zone.

I agree completely, I'm trying hard and my aim this year is to make as much of a leap forward as I can and enjoy it in the process of course. This sort of challenge is just what I'm after.

Thanks for taking it on Yv and organising it.

:bonk: aaarrgghhhhh, this is sosoooooooo difficult, I like them all for different reasons. My instinct was to go for Alans [Mr Pants] as its absolutely bloody brilliant, and for that reason he gets second place. Why, you may ask, because I did say it had to be within the realms of reality, and thats definately a merge [unless him mum was VERY busy in one go ] but kudos Alan, I think everyone loved it, what I wouldn't give for an imagination and photography/editing skills like yours, not to mention personal bravery

ok, so the winner. An incredibly well executed shot that fits the theme perfectly and proves you didn't need to leave your house to take on this challenge....

:1st: Mr Ed Bray, with Blood is Thicker Than Water

Special mention much also go to jgs001 for Spice of life, annao for flogging a dead horse, dark star for Taking a yard, hacker, for sheer amusement, and fabs for getting off his ass and actually doing one  Truth is they were all very imaginative, suited the theme and most importantly, everyone seems to have enjoyed the challenge.

Now, I look forward to taking on Ed's challenge :woot:

Wow! I'm so chuffed! Only downside is I presume I can't enter the next challange

Now this will seem like a daft question, but what is the criteria for the challange, this is the first I have entered and have never done anything like it before? :help:

choose a theme, start a new thread, specify opening and closing times allowing some time for people to get the shots over say a week to 10 days, and thats it basically. Edinburgh Gary started all this off with his chair thread, I just followed on as winner of that one.

...and yes, the ONLY downside is sitting on your hands knowing you can't enter :bonk:

Brill  I will sort something out tomorrow and start it for later this week as I am off to EuroDisney for my 50th on Wednesday and am not back until the 27th, so I will only ave a few days of sitting on my hands

Congratulations Ed, that was a superb shot. Well done to everyone that took part too. I'll look forward to your challenge Ed, and the piccies from EuroDisney...

A very sincere thanks to all!

Challenge 3 topic now posted!

Well done to all. I was going to attempt, 'Home is where you hang your hat' and take a picture of a hat hanging from the bar in the local pub but kept forgetting to take the camera!:bang:
