Okay, what's wrong with my chain then? :'(

aaawwwwww

I like your chain Ed, represents the proverb very well, but for me it reminds me of way back when I was a kid, hanging round half ass riding stables with fences an gates held together with bailing twine

Cool, works for 'History' too then!

The chain is actually slightly larger than bath chain size and it is just short of a 1:1 ratio macro shot. It was specifically set up in my garden for the project this morning and I was gutted I couldn't find some orange bailing twine as you would normally see on larger country fences.

Even better then because it certainly gives the impression if being a fairly chunky bit of chain

This one was obviously not taken today, but Yv said it would be okay to post it...

"One in a million"

Lovely image Jenny, very cleverly done.
Great contrasts between the sharp/oof and the different colours, one teensy weenie critisism, the blue bluebells seem to all be facing the opposite way to the white bluebell stem and much less straight, if you have set this up as I strongly suspect, that 'gives the lie' to the image, but brilliant effort and a very, very nice shot none the less!

if you ever get the chance to do it again, I would turn the stem around, place it on a similar angle to the others and I think it would be absolutely perfect!

Not sure 'one in a million' is actually a proverb though.

Just because that is well used expression, it is not a proverb :nono:

 well you wanted a challenge, you got one.... ;)

edit: and if you doubt you can do this one, let me quote a famous one for you - A picture paints a thousand words - and the talents on TP can rise to this proverb, of that I am absolutely certain

lol

I did not think One in a million was a proverb, but it happens to be in the 1000proverb list that we were pointed to for inspiration! Suspect they've got that wrong though.

Again thanks for the critique. Actually I did not set this up. It was completely natural. I take bluebell pictures every spring and they never do what you want them to do, like face in the right direction.

So miss money penny your setting strict deadlines now...... (throws hat and stand and smashes window,,,,,)

Yes Mr Bond, you have 20 hours and 20 minutes to complete your mission. If you fail, no one will know you existed.

OK, another go. Not a proverb as such, more of a saying, but the opportunity presented itself! ;)

The Cat's Whiskers

Is the cat still talking to you after yanking them out...... :coat:

I knew it wouldn't take long for the first accusations of animal cruelty!

The missus was actually hoovering the stairs and came into the office and put them on my mousemat.

Ah, I see, so the cats happy then :suspect: :D

Entitled "Many a Mickle makes a Muckle". The Mickles, as everyone knows, are distinguished by their shiny, spotless white T-shirts and portable aluminium ladders. The Muckles are distinguished by their hairy navels and reliance upon assembly by Mickles.

.... or something like that.
