I currently shoot with a Nikon d850 and have the Nikon trilogy lenses plus a couple more.
I want a second body , what would be your thoughts please?
I used to have a d500 and am considering getting a d500 again as a second body , but I am thinking it might be unnecessary given my d850 will have similar functionality apart from the frame rate and buffer. I do shoot wildlife and sport action so it would kind of make sense but it’s hard to justify a £grand on an extra body .
Not wanting to go mirrorless yet and don‘t do video , so thinking maybe D7200/d750?

How are you going to use it? Backup? Two bodies to hand at once with different lenses? Are you sure you need one at all? Most things you might buy will be a step down from the D850, except for the faster frame rate of the D500. Even if you want to shoot long, the D500 doesn't give you that many more pixels to play with than a DX crop of the D850 sensor. If you really do need a second body, the answer may be another D850, but presumably cost is an object.

A D750 seems the 'obvious' choice if you don't want DX - lighter than a D850, but with a similar field of view through all lenses.

Once you've used a D850 nothing else will come close, so the only answer is another D850. The 24-70 on one, 70-200 on the other, with the 14-24 in your pocket. :D

I could never in a hundred years go back to a DX camera. MF film or FF/MF digital - I could never go smaller.

I had, and still have a D7200, which I used before getting my D800, and after using the D800, I'd not even consider using the older one again.

If I needed another body I'd get another D800/810 etc
