Seaodyssey's 2022 Fifty Two (Critique Welcome) Week52 Showcase

I don't know Pete, not too unusual, looks pretty black and white to me... :D

Unusual indeed. I'm not quite sure what they're supposed to be? I', assuming cows but there's something panda-is about at least one

Flora.. lovely spring blossom, nicely composed.
Unusual.. I remember going to MK to find those many years ago when they were in the news. It brought back some fond motorbiking memories.

They are concrete cows, a couple look really unusual from certain angles, 1 looks headless but move a bit and you see he is looking back.

That must have been a long time ago, glad to rekindle memories.
I'd love some of these in my garden :) Ticks the box well and makes me smile.
If you want long grass they will be fine.

Pete

Are there still any concrete cow pats behind some of them?

Nice! Never been to Madeira, but one of my best mates loves it (and is there now funnily enough).

OK OK we know your are somewhere warm. It's 12 degrees here with a cool east wind.

Nice use of shaded sunlight. Exposure is spot on.

As I said in my last post...I'm jealous...

Ahh well, Puerto Vallarta in November...

Snappers - A second bite of the tech cherry? :)
Nicely taken, composed more or less bang on (not too much or too little space around the trees). Perhaps the shadows could come up a tad?

Trees - Er yes, trees ;)

Technology - There is definitely a lot of tech in modern cars, the lighting probably has some form of processor control. Although one definite benefit of LED's is it takes a long time to drain your battery if inadvertently left on.

Discarded - I like all the vertical elements (women, lights, posts, trees) but this causes a problem for the theme as the trolley is a bit lost in the scene.

Flora - An interesting example of how DOF affects elements within an image. It looks like the focus is on the unopened bud above the open flower.

Unusual - On the face of it they do appear very strange and something from the mind of someone like Damian Hirst. I did zoom in to see better which confused me further as at least one didn't appear to be cow like!!

Snappers Choice - Great symmetry in the image. I've never made it to Madeira yet but it does look a very photogenic location.

Trees - It does what it says on the tin.

Thanks, you should be warmer there.
Nicely done.
…just off to put another jumper on…..

Thanks Tim I will try things more than once.....given the chance.

They are the famous Milton Keynes concrete cows, But I guess not so famous now.

It is nice here, but very Hilly.
Trees - It does what it says on the tin.
Thanks Stuart

Well, they are definitely trees (y) :)

Two nice images from your holiday I presume... looks lovely and well done for keeping up with the challenge.

Wow that looks like an interesting place. So it is a tunnel underneath a railway, but why is it elevated? Is there water underneath or is it marshy?

It looks like you've managed the lighting well - looks tricky.

Thats an interesting and unusual shot Pete

There is a small river which shares the same hole. It is about 40m long under the main Euston to Birmingham railway track and the local tracks as well.
I'm sure that local Kingfishers use the tunnel as I have seen them both sides.

Pete

I think that this is well spotted and well shot Pete. Might have played with hurting my back and seeing what I got with a really low shot. I think that the scene has some potential that you could explore (if you had the opportunity).

I really like this shot with all the lines and angles. The monochrome treatment is well done too. I have yet to attempt this.

No nice sunsets here just white clouds, not sure about sunrises as I don't see them often.

Pete

It's a different take on it, and it works. The tones are nice, and there's loads of interest.

Thank you Nick

I noticed how bright the pattern was on Sunday while having a drink, The window faces westish and I knew it would indicate a setting sun by the angle of the shadows.
