Seaodyssey's 2022 Fifty Two (Critique Welcome) Week52 Showcase

Light - you've captured some great cloud formations. Makes a dramatic image.
Damp - now that's my kind of damp... and great idea for reflection. Works really well

I have decided to use the beach shot as you can see the sea and the beach in colour thro' the raindrops on the window.
I had to do manual focus to get the water drops sharp, while the Over Birmingham shot was all automactice using my phone.

Your chosen shot looks very familiar (rain on a window, not a beach scene!). I quite the plane shot - I always try to blog the window seat when we fly and usually spend the entire journey looking out

Your chosen shot is a really good and a very typical day in the UK most of the time. I think if the airplane shot was in focus then for me that would have a cracker, but it can't have been easy given the movement and lack of light.

I could go for either of them to be honest, but the beach shot edges it. The sharpness of the water drops is great.

I like your chosen image the best of the two Pete. I was thinking of doing something similar. Love the colours and the suggestion of the landscape that the window overlooks.

I try to get the window seat as well, but the Mrs moans so much, I let her have it and it stops me getting a stiff neck looking out.

Either shot work well for the theme. Fascinating to see Brum from the air (where I grew up)
Thanks Bebop, I bet Brum is very different now.
A very familiar sight through a window.
Thanks Stan

That's true on both counts.

Week 12 Discarded

Took the car in for a service and as it was a nice day, I walked to a local shopping area, where I saw a discarded shopping trolly, after going into street mode, I give you This.

Thought you'd got rid of the misuss for a minute Pete.

Well spotted.

Yep - works well :)

Technology -- auto-dipping? Didn't even know that was a thing, given the chance I'd still use a footswitch to dip my lights (only baby-boomers will know what I'm talking about).

Discarded. For me the shopping trolley is a bit incidental and to better fit the theme I would have liked to see it in the centre and the woman off to the right or at least half and half, if that wasn't possible.

Thanks Martin,

The auto dipping works very well, and I do remember the floor mounted beam switch.
I see what you are saying about the discarded image, I had already cropped it a lot and street is not my thing at all.

Pete

Had to think about what was discarded - took a while but got there in the end :)

Definitely fits the bill Pete, though I'm left to wonder if it was the trolley that caught your eye... :D

Beautiful shot Pete, I like the processing.

Thank you Bill, not much processing done tbh.
Very nice Pete. Lovely colours and nice creamy background.
Thank you Bebop, all from our front garden.
Nice shot. Good choice of dof and square crop format.
Thank you Stan.
Lovely close up and blurred background. Great colours.
Thank you Simon

Thank you for taking your time to comment.
