Hi, i have a couple of spare days and i am thinking of going to seahouses for a couple of days,i went in april and late may were the wildlife was brilliant and i got loads of puffin pics, what i was hoping someone could help me with is what am i likely to see in late august on any of the islands or could it be a wasted trip for bird life, any info woulkd be apreciated ,or if anyone can recomend anywere within a 4 hour drive from manchester it would be apreciated. Thanks

Surprised no replies, see if mine kicks them off..

Maybe no wildlife, or not seabirds anyway, but you have the delights of Northumberland on your doorstep from there. Coastal castles to photograph, Hadrians wall to visit perhaps. Holy Island gotta be worth visiting Id have thought. The worlds your bivalve mollusc.

Hi there
We went to Seahouses a couple of weeks ago and took a sailaround trip to the Farne islands. There were quite a few seals around, but other than some shags, not much in the way of bird life. There's still plenty to keep you busy with you're camera though if you like landscape photography. I've not been to Northumberland since I was a kid, some 25 years ago and I loved it - can't wait to go back.

Hi, i eneded up going around the islands,so a few shags close up and plenty of seals, got lucky with the weather so spent some time visiting local attractions ,spend a few hours visiting the chillingham wild cattle, well worth a visit

I went last week. A few cormorants, shags and seals - that's all.
