SD card problem

I have a 2gb SD card for my camera and for some reason it will only hold 49mb (about 20 photos) before saying that my memory card is full. Help :shrug:
 
Have you re-formatted it in-camera?
 
What camera do you have?
Is it possible that you are saving to the camera's own memory?
 
Hi, I didn't re-format it. it's been working fine and I just took photos on it, got home, put it in to a friend's computer which came up with an unrecognized error message so I removed the card and put it in to my own computer when I returned home to find that most of the files that were on there were wiped and there were only about 20 left, so the other photos disappeared, and now I only have 50mb space on there! Confused!
 
Yep. Re-format the card in your camera.
 
Ah, thank you very much Yellowbelly. Card now working!! :D Is there any way I can recover my lost photos? :/
 
not if youve formatted - thats kinda the point of formatting :P

Have a look for a program called Recuva, I've managed to get back deleted photos with it but I'm not sure if it'll help after a format. It's good to have though, for those just in case moments.
 
Formatting won't have made any difference a formatted card can still have items recovered, just as easy as deleted stuff.
