Hi all,

Hope somebody can help, trawled google but no suitable answers for my searches!

Changed cameras but forgot to upload images from SD card before I sold my D5000. The card s not being picked up on my Mac, however the reader is working as it picks up my other cards. When I put the card in my D90 it says it is damaged!

Thing is I have a load of great family pics from our hols a few months ago! Keep finding these "free" SD recovery downloads. 2 problems, the first is I don't trust them and secondly would they work even if the card is not being picked up on my Mac.

I am sure I am not the only person to have encountered this problem so hopefully somebody can help me, it will get me out of a sticky situation, "I told you to do that first!"

Thanks

Is the card for sure a genuine one? not one bought from ebay? this has happened to me 3 times, and each time it was on a card i got off ebay (never again) and later found out it was a fake. I know that dosent answer your question, just curious.
Best of luck sorting it, hopfully someone will come along who some details on what to do

Id perhaps try taking it in, or even trying a different reader. I agree with the aboveit benig a fake sounds like a good bet im afraid :(

Have you tried it with a different reader? I know some of the larger sd cards (HCSD) can't be seen by the older card readers, and try a mates computer just in case it's the Mac playing silly beggers.

Thanks for the posts guys. Just to confirm the card is not a fake, have had it for nearly 3 years and no problems until now. The Mac has always picked it up and my other Sandisk pro extreme cards are reading fine. The card went in my wallet in dec and as it sits on my backside most of the time suspect that is the problem. Have looked for my USB card reader, but nowhere to be seen.

Thanks guys

I was in the same boat... Card was reading as a dudd.

I used Card Rescue and it retrieved 740 odd images in .tiff format even though the card was empty as you will know.

Well worth the £20!!!!
