No
No accountability and lots of opportunity means that peoples greed over takes the morals and self control. Then it snowballs. If he hadn't been greedy and paid in 200k he could have kept 100k and no one would have known.

My word for this man would not beat the swear filter.

I would have him paraded through every major city and whipped with thorns :) then make him do community service

No need to educate other scumbags!

Totally despicable. I don't think this happens very often (though obviously I don't know) but it is the reason I don't give to any collectors in the street. There are better ways of donating.

Dave

Yep, happens all the time.
I know the local organiser for all the Cancer Research events round here. All the race for life events around the county, mud races, relays, night events etc. I can't remember the exact figure, but is was surprisingly high the number of people that don't hand in their donations.

Then there was the lovely piece of work who took it a step further and spent a couple of months telling people she had cancer and needed to raise money for some pioneering treatment un the USA, then miraculously got better when people started to question her.

I'd give him a day trip to a certain city on the Welsh borders, county town of a county of the same name with shire on the end, (May be home of 22 Rgt) with a big sign round his neck and let the locals turn a blind eye. Failing that, the same in any garrison town.

Or maybe chain him to the gates of Selly Oak in Birmingham?

pretty dispicable.

Been trying to find out where he's based. No joy and he doesn't look familiar. From the story, it seems that he uses a collection of ex-military vehicles in his "fund raising" activities - wonder if he'll be shamed into flogging them to raise funds to repay his thievery?

Agreed.

We had (in my opinion) an equally despicable crime in my town last week.

Someone vandalised both of our voluntary inshore rescue boats (both RIBs I believe) putting them out of action until enough money can be raised to repair or replace them.

Steve.

Shame will not come into it I suspect, proceeds of crime act however should be rather effective
