All,

Any recommendations for a good precision screwdriver set for cameras and electronics etc ?

I don’t want to break the bank - but appreciate good quality tools and I can’t stand screw drivers made of cheese !

I’d rather have a selection of fixed drivers as opposed to many bits - unless there’s a really good set out there.

Any recommendations appreciated.

Thanks
Chris

The various sets from "Moody Tools" are excellent and enduring but not cheap. I've used them for years and the tips still look like new.

Take a look at the Engineer Japan sets on Amazon, work a treat and never had any issues with them.

I believe cameras amongst other things use a head known as JIS (Japanese Industrial Standard) slightly different to the usual cross head

Well you learn something new every day :)

Thank you gents. Glad I asked - I’ve never heard of the jis- very useful.

Those moody tools..... yum.

JIS screws are fairly easy to identify - they have a dot between two of the points of the X. While a Pozidrive or Philips headed driver might do the job, it's always best to have the correct driver for the screw to avoid camming out and causing damage to the head of the screw.
