Yes
afternoon all, Something I've put up with for a good few months now but seen as I'm on the sick after an operation I thought id get my head round it and try and resolve it. Nothing major but it niggles at me from time to time.

Basically I've calibrated both my screens and if I use PS, LR or Bridge and even FastStone Image Viewer on either screen the image is identical and its pretty darn close when I print as well but if I only the same image in IE Explorer its a hell of a lot darker..

Why is this and how do I get IE Explorer to show the same colours as PS and the rest of the programs?

which version of IE ?

(pretty sure that versions up to 11 were regarded as "unsuitable for colour critical work" as the weren't supporting ICC profiles correctly - over-saturating images iirc.)

Why are you are comparing a file management program with applications like PS, LR or Bridge & FastStone Image Viewer? File Explorer is a file management application, it is not designed to be a fully fledged photo viewer.

^^^ this - provided the thumbnails are clear enough to discern one image from another, it doesn't really matter if they are completely colour calibrated.

Yes I agree but I'm just trying to find out why its now different after I've calibrated the screens, before calibration I could look at an image in anything listed above and they all looked the same

Because it doesn't support colour profiles.

What version of windows? I think 10 does use the profiles, as the difference has gone away on mine since the upgrade.

Thank you .... Maybe ill use some of my time off to upgrade to 10 from 8.1 as id been putting it off as I really liked how my new system ran with 8.1 although all my friends have told me numinous times to upgrade
