scouts presentation

Ask the Skip (Scout Leader) what they need to accomplish for the Photographers Badge (or equivelent) then base your talk/presentation around that.

Just found it online http://members.scouts.org.uk/suppor...pher-activity-badge/?cat=7,64,172&moduleID=10

I did a photography badge for our cub scouts. I took a film slr cameras and a couple of different digital ones, including a decent digital slr. Got them to practice with different exposure settings. We did a 10 sec shot of the assistant cub scout leader sitting in a chair while others ran around him and when the long exposure was shown to them only the leader who was still could be seen! No reason why this wouldnt work with Scouts!

My son did this. We printed a poster of his wildlife photography and he gave a talk about the photos, where and how he took them.

Take some of your favourite photos, or pictures that have got a story about how you took them, to talk about.

James as I read your post I take it you are one of the scouts? I used to have quite a bit to do with my local village scouts as my mum was heavily involved in it both as a leader for a few years and then in the committee side of things, now I'd say they key would be to try and engage them, it's probably not worth trying to talk about the technical side of photography so maybe talk about why you love it? It's cheesy as hell but as demonstrated by recent news coverage of it in camera ghosts can be a good way to engage and capture interest you could shoot there and then show the scouts
