Yes
did my first solo wedding yesterday.(sort of) bl**dy scary.
my mrs, who,s "the tog "of rainbow photography, had to go off to do the bride getting ready , and i,d been asked to do the same for the groom,s party.
then after, we,d both done the actual church stuff and outside shots.
she who must be obeyed had to go off to do something else that we couldnt postpone. leaving me to do the afternoon, and part of the evening.
i,ve been assistant and second tog for a while, but its still pretty daunting to be left to it on my own. knowing I had the responsibility for the whole shebang.
i remembered the technical stuff and the shots i NEEDED, as well as the off the cuff stuff.it helped that the bride and groom were definitely the best fun weve worked with.
result. some great shots. and from my usaul 10% (if i,m lucky) of shots to make the proofs, ive got as many in there as the missus.
i,m so chuffed.

Well done mate
I had the same a short while ago myself & was left to cover the afternoon, speeches, first dance, etc. Definitely nerve-wracking but good fun :p

having done it once, i,d be happy to do it again. but the wife has certainly got WAY more talent ,skill and experience than me.
dont think i,d want to do a full wedding on my own.
though her theory is, with enough experience and her training, i could do one for her , if illness forced her to miss one.
i may even post one of my pics. i,ll have to ask her indoors ***.

Any advice for someone s*****g them self???
I am covering my friends wedding on the 6th June and have never done one before.
Only said yes because if I didn't they couldn't afford a tog for the day.

Well done!! :) Ive been second shooter for a while now, got a couple of my own jobs this summer so still have all this to come :D

Slvrbck: Tranquillizers perhaps :D

I was given some good advice here years ago ...

Get the best man to help you organizes things,
Have a chat with the couple and best man together, describe what it is that worries you, ask for their help on the day to organize and inform the guests....many guest will have done wedding posing before so it kinda organizes itself if you take control of each moment.

Actually you best not listen to me I've only done a few. :D weddings, spit.

slvrbck.
enjoy it. have spare everything, and a shot list.remember to breath, drink and pee.keep and eye on the backgrounds ALWAYS.
THERES NOTHING WORSE THAN A BRILLIANT SHOT OF THE B&G WITH A SCOWLING MOTHER IN LAW BEHIND THEM.
did i say, enjoy it?
