scart connection on new tv's

I do not think scart connection is available in New TVs for the last 3 years as far as I know. You can always buy an SCART to HDMIConverter.

Might just be worth getting a second hand sky box with HDMI.

Most if not all new TVs will have phono av in connectors, a scarf to phono cable to use with these will only be a couple of quid.

This sounds like the best plan if he doesn't want to swap his sky box...

None of the TV's I looked at before Christmas had a scart connector on them.

Bear in mind that SCART can carry a high quality RGB signal (similar to 3 phono component inputs) as well as a crappy composite video signal as used by the single, typically yellow, phono sockets. Using the composite video option means a much worse picture.

There is no guarantee that a SCART to HDMI convertors would use the RGB signal. Obviously they should, but worth checking,

Thanks everyone, scart to phono, I didn't think about that one. He may change the sky box, but I doubt it as he likes the things the way they are :)

Last month I bought a Panasonic smart TV which still has a single scart input which suited the hardly used old DVD player.
There are 3 HDMIs and three USBs, I think they are hintng scart will soon be gone.
