Hi

I have borrowed a file scanner to try and scan some old films. When looking at the picture on the screen it looks okay but when I scan it the scanned image is like a negative.

What am I doing wrong, please help.

Thanks

Hi

Thanks for replying. I have tried all settings.

Slide, negative and B&w negative.

Problem: When I scan my negatives into my computer they appear as a positive image in the 'Capture' window, but when I capture the image it saves as a negative. How can I solve this?
Resolution: A small number of VFS-002 scanners had the incorrect, out-of-date, software included with them. If you visit the Download Centre on the right you can download the step-by-step guide for downloading and reinstalling the correct software. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Thank you will give that a go and report back.

I had a Veho scanner for a short while, and I suggest you don't get your hopes up too much even with better software. Colour negative films all have different orange masks, and the Veho I had knew nothing about that. See if you can borrow a scanner that's attached to the computer and controlled by software on the main computer, you get much higher levels of control.

Basically the Veho I had was a fairly rubbish 5 mp camera in a non-light-proof box. The quality was dire, the upside was it was very quick compared with the better options from Epson, Plustek, Reflecta, Canon etc.

Thanks, I know the quality is not good but just want to try a few negs.
