Anybody doing this?

I was pretty surprised that it doesn't seem to be a "supported" film and that the developer's response was "well, just enter your own preferences...".

I've spent a couple of hours fiddling around and am still having difficulties with it.

Anybody getting good results? Care to share your settings? BTW is it possible to save a custom Negfix setting? Can't seem to...which would make it a chore every time I want to scan Acros (or the app decides to randomly reset my preferences).

I have always found silverfast as user friendly as a hungry bear and the developers only really interested in raking in money. Sorry not to be of use! ;)

Anything better to get a decent scan of Acros out of my 4490?

Silverfast is, um, OK when you do what it wants. But I'm not wedded to it. And if there's something else around for say < £50 I'd happily take a look.

VueScan?

I use vuescan too. Its not exactly intuitive either but it is constantly updated and its easy to get fairly good scans out of it for further PP. All my acros (35mm and 120) is scanned in it.

I've had a go with Vuescan this afternoon.

It seems to make a much better job of Acros and some Reala the Silverfast (though I've yet to read through Knikki's link...). However, scans from Velvia are pretty awful. This is the film that I can get Silverfast to make beautiful scans of.

Maybe everybody ends up buying both....

Or stops using colour film! ;)

Sorry for late addition but what is happening to your Velvia scans in VueScan? Mine are working absolutely fine - that Fly Agaric photo of mine in another thread was Velvia 50 scanned in VueScan. Perhaps if you describe your approach we can together deduce what is going wrong?
