I suggested a scam thread over in HT recently and Cobra suggested here would be a better option if I wanted to go ahead. .I've wondered about it since because, as some pointed out, most people recognise one when it drops into the Inbox but sometimes new clever ones emerge and it was these I had in mind as 'an alert' or heads-up.

What prompted me to ask about the one I had today was that it purported to come from Tesco. It stated that I'd been selected to win an award and not just a regular one but 'an exclusive' one, if I was to take a survey about my recent visit to the store. It asked if I was male or female with a small figure of each in case I didn't recognise the difference.lol. The 'if you don't want to receive these Emails opt out here' or write to..and it was one of two addresses. One in New York the other in Memphis TN.

Last week we went to the Helston Tesco store to see what it's like as a local recommended it. We've always shopped at Sainsburys, Helston and M&S, Hayle when down here. That was our first visit to the local Tesco store. Turns out my wife has a Tesco Club card so I paid using my card and got £10 off the bill with her discount card.. Tesco do not have my Email address. I suppose with the number of phishing emails the scammers send out it's just a coincidence. I'm still trying to see why it got to my Inbox via iOs settings > Mail when other are sent there.

I don't see the need, to be honest. We all get them what you make think is a sophisticated one others may not.

All I do is forward them to: https://www.ncsc.gov.uk/collection/phishing-scams

Good link. I was unaware of it.

I do take your point and it's valid and I did acknowledge that in my opening paragraph. It's more a case of flying a kite, really. As I mentioned in my original post over in HT ,if it runs, it runs and if not then it just drifts down the headings into oblivion.
