Scammed for Thousands

I hate this term, but: Wait, what?? Aren't WalMart responsible for any outgoings in this case? whether or not one of their own employees as pulling a fast one, that's their end. Surely they should compensate? That's ridiculous.

Compensate how?
They gave the purchaser a refund... they even got a free notepad too...
 
You know, the funny things is, after I read this thread I was looking on eBay for a lens, someone had advertised a 24-70 lens and stated the excellent condition "as shown in the photos" the problem was the photo shows a 24-105 ?
I couldn't help thinking this guy is scamming, even funnier, about an hour later the listing was taken down as if he had had a buy it now price offered, after the bidding had gone mad to over£600 with sveral days left. i thought, If he stops the listing and gets bank transfer then he won't get any negative feedback and is free to do it again and again.
Am I just being paranoid after reading is thread or does it sound a bit sus to you too?
