Got random calls these days. They rang once and shown as missed call.
I did once called back, the woman said it was her child playing the phone :cuckoo:, on another occasion, I picked up the phone quick enough to hear nothing from the other end. :cuckoo:

Some of them could be companies trying to sell you stuff using a few numbers to hide behind from a number generator their end. I know I had that recently with a few financial agencies trying to spam me and the numbers were similar but a few digits out on each call to me.

They can't hide behind random numbers - the only option they have is to withhold. The numbers you saw would have been a part of a sequential numbering block allocated to the callers and linked to their equipment.

Mr Square Peas, can you please remove the 5TH telephone number from your post?

I don't think ONE missed call from me deserves being listed as a SCAM number. I was most likely just returning your call. Please remove this now.

He isn't listing it as a scam number, he's asking, hence the question mark.

Ok well, the answer is it is not.

Whoever wants to, can dial away if they have the time to waste.

You generally get very few scam calls from mobile phones when it's far cheaper to do them on a landline, but it can be worth Googling the number to see what comes up. I tried it with your first number and the top hit was this thread!

Not that suprising a thing to do and it is over 4 months since the original post.

I searched for my own number on google the other day as I got a phone call I wasn't expecting from someone that I know but hadn't given my phone number to (very, very few people have my phone number, by design) and wanted to see if it was online somewhere. It wasn't.

ah didnt see the start date of the thread, makes a little more sense

I just searched for my phone number, 20 hits, 14 of them 'business' finder type listings for a business I gave up 7 years ago and 6 more for German mobile phone lists, appears my home number is also a mobile number in Germany (that's handy).

I searched my old number I had to change due to silent calls/scam/selling calls and got 0 hits.

my new number had lots of hits, mainly as its a landline number in China lol. the start is an area code for Ganzhou , Jiangxi

Hopefully wont get anyone getting China and UK's country codes mixed up :D
