SB28 External Power

Hi Guys,
Any reccomendations for a small battery pack that I can use for my SB28's (and possibly still use if I upgrade to sb600/800's).

Just wondered if using external power will also increase recycle times or will it just provide me with more flash fires?

I spotted that puddleduck but I would prefer something that wasnt AA's.
I always have to charge my AA's the night before I use them, otherwise they are dead after a week or two or sitting in their cases. I have tried various brands of batteries including some expensive ansmann's and I have the same issue with all of them
