Hi Ive been having a look around for a couple of weeks now and I thought I would say hi. My name is Lester, Im 34 and have been a keen photographer for quite a few years now and I even took it as a GCSE when I left school. Only in the last two years Ive been taking it seriously. I bought a Fuji Finepix S9600 two years ago and that has been alright, but last week I decided to take the plunge and have now got a Nikon D90 with the 18-105 VR and 70-300 VR lenses. Hopefully this can take me to the next level and I can start to try things out manually. Im a car enthusiast, so I use a camera for mostly motor shows and Touring Cars, but Ill photograph anything if I thought it would look alright. I also have a friend who builds model rockets and it wasnt until I spent a day with the group he belongs to, that I realised the Fuji is just not up to the job.
Sorry it has taken me a while to say hello, but after seeing the fantastic photos on here, I quickly realised that some photos Ive taken I thought were reasonable, are clearly not and I have a lot to learn. Hopefully this is the right place to improve my knowledge and skills. I think I have a reasonable basic knowledge of photography and Ive been using Photoshop for over 15 years, so I know my way around that. Ive been working in the print industry as a Mac operator since leaving college 15 years ago and I now work for a major publishing company in Central London producing their ebooks.
