Then you'll want savings certificates or less than £50K in a UK backed bank. Santander will take some beating (and yes, I know they are really Spanish.... )

Why less than 50k? I thought we were all covered for up to 85k per account or per each financial institution.......?

You're right. I keep forgetting they upped it to match our friends in Europe

They need to tidy up that "per financial institution" nonsense though.
