Hi there, just a quick question....

What format do you guys save your photographs (lets say of a Wedding) before you send the CD to your customer?
I have photographed my father in law's wedding and want to know which format to save before
give it to him? Tiff or Jpeg?:help:

many thanks

Are you wanting to know what format to save in to then transfer to disc?
I take it you shot in RAW origionally?
I'd be tempted to send them in a high jpeg, because you're still more likely to get a high-file size, but not obviously as high as tif, the problem with tif, is them opening the files at their end.

Depends on what he wants to do with the images.

If he wants to simply look at them on a computer I would send them as jpeg. Might want to send them resized to about 800 x 1200 as well so they load faster.

If he wants prints, I'd still go for jpeg, but keep the compression really low, about 10-12 in Photoshop

Thanks Adele.....
I should have explained.....I shoot in Raw as well......High Jpeg will do.....thanks for the advice....

If its not too much trouble then why not offer both? tiff's are a better quality version so if he wants to print them in a large size he can, and then he can use the jpegs for viewing on his pc and sending to friends and family. I would suggest saving them larger than 800x1200 though, but thats just me. If someone has a monitor with a resolution up to 1680x1050 it would be nice for them to be able to view them up to that size. So maybe save them as 2,000 pixels wide/high.

hope that helps.
