Hi,
Just used Lightroom for the first time to do a batch of Raw shots. I can't remember the last time I used raw but found it quite user friendly. However, I now want to export the keepers to DVD for printing, presumably jpegs...? I think I should set at no file size restriction and 300 DPI and max quality? I can see how you can export to DVD but do I need to tell LR to keep a copy or will it do that automatically? Didn't want to press the button and find all the images gone!

back up your RAW files anyway.
I dont think I changed anything to keep the raws when I first started using it recently

Hi,
Can't see an obvious way to back up the raw files! Am I missing something because I don't see it!

What version of LR are you using ??

If you go into:

Edit > Catalog Settings

You can set the frequency in there... I have mine set to back up weekly on exit of program :)
This does not backup your raw files. This backs up the catalog(ue) which is the database used to reference the raw files. To backup the raw files you need to copy them from the location where they are stored on your HDD to another disk somewhere else.

To answer the OPs question, when you export from LR, you export a copy of the file with whatever settings you have applied, LR does not alter the raw file in any way.
