Edit My Images
Yes
Ive just started to edit my photos mainly converting them to B&W and High Pass Sharpening, however when I come to save the images I see JPEG and thats how I save them. However when I look at them in my image viewer it shows us as a Adobe Photoshop JPEG?

Just right click the photo and click properties, then you can see some writing and a little tab which says 'Change'. Click 'Change' and choose 'Windows Picture & Fax Viewer' from the menu. If thats not there then choose 'Windows Picture Viewer', it should now show thumbnails of the picture and open as a normal picture would on your computer. Oh i have assumed that you're using windows and that was your problem :P

Sorry I just want it to be a normal JPEG so it opens in my image viewer, thats on my Mac.

Oh and by the way if you're saving as JPEG make sure you choose highest quality settings, as JPEG's tend to lose a lot of quality on the image if you save them with any compression. Either that or you can save them as PNG which i mostly do for my images, although PNG isn't as compatible as JPEG.
Sorry if you already know all this, i am just trying to help :p

In that case i'm not the guy to be asking. I've only touched a mac once and that was my friends mac. But normally with Adobe, it tends to say that something is an "Adobe JPEG" even though it's just a normal JPEG, and normally the problem is that JPEG's are just assigned to open with Adobe instead.

What you are seeing is the association application for the JPEG. Photoshop has become the default program to open that file. It is a standard JPEG. If you right click you'll get an OPEN With option, so you can choose iPhoto or Preview or even Safari

If you want to change the associations here's link of how to do it
