Morning All.

I have just been adding a watermark (pretty standard) to a photo. I am happy with what i have at the moment, but cant see any way of saving the 'Layer' that the watermark is in.

Is there a way of doing this? I am using CS4

Cheers, Tom

Hi Tom,

You can save the file itself in your desired format or export it as a file.

Another common method is saving an action which will enable you to drag and drop any image that you would like to apply your watermark to.

There's an abundance of tutorials and walk throughs on how to do this, just run a Google search for:

Making a photoshop action

and

Making a photoshop droplet.

Hope this helps

If you go to file/scripts/export layer to files you can save out the layers as individual documents, remember if you have any transparent areas you'll need to save as psd, if you save as jpeg you'll loose the transparent bits (they'll come out white)

You can save it as a custom brush but as I'm at work, I cant help much more than that :(

CTRL click on the layer the watermark is on (that'll select it) then edit/define brush preset. That will only save the shape it won't save anything clever like layer styles opacity etc.

You can then add by clicking on a new image, preferably on a new layer, then you can control the opacity.

Now try this step, click your brush (black colour) on a new layer, change the blend mode to screen (your logo will vanish) now click the fx and choose bevel/emboss and play around with the settings, you'll get a semi-see though effect embossed.
Flatten and job done

That looks pretty good mate, interesting shot. Glad you got it sorted. Wayne
