No
A recent survey (see the next story below) concluded that most of us take photos in order to share them, with email by far the most popular method. Social networking websites are also becoming more important, think sites like MySpace, Flickr and FaceBook, whilst printing is still growing, but not as quickly. The survey also idenitified some interesting age distinctions, with under-25’s eager to share, over 45’s more concerned with the storage and preservation of their memories, and 25-44 year olds a mixture of the two. I want to find out how PhotographyBLOG readers predominantly share their photos. Are you an avid Flickr or online Gallery user? Do you prefer a physical print? Or do you find yourself viewing most photos on a computer monitor? And have you found any cool new services or ways of sharing your photos? Shout out now.

This came in on the RSS feeds, thought it might make an interesting topic point.

Me personally I use my photoblog, the forums (obviously), and Flickr.

I use a couple of forums (Including this very fine one right here) and Deviantart. I normally also have a little 'slideshow' type thing through Ligtroom for my parents when ive taken a new set, as they are good critics and photographers themselves.:)

A few forums, starting to use flickr a little bit, and in print to 'tog friends :)

A couple of forums but they then generally link to my own website.

What does it cost for blurb to deliver to the uk? can;t find it on their site.

It can be pretty expensive and depends on weight - I ordered a hard back book (with 74 pages) from them and they stung me $46 for shipping

I just post on POTN and here. Keep meaning to put together a web site but too lazy.

Michael.

here, if i want to spamshare on other forums i link from here

Here of course. Speedway stuff goes on my webshots album and also on the Ipswich website and printed in the programme. My own website, and Flickr although I'm yet to upgrade my flickr membership to make the most of it.

I'm a fan of the photobox books too - also still maintain photo albums and use photobox for printing for those.

I don't tend to share my photos so much. While praise is always good, and criticism is normally useful, I take photos because of what they mean to me. I used to post a few on here, but I don't tend to so much any more. I'll put my favourites on my photoblog, but it's more of a way of just keeping a "blog" of where I've been and what I've seen more than anything else.

Massive lover of flickr (although relative newbie to there). Only recently found this forum (even if join date was ages ago!) and post on another forum where I was a regular but tend not to visit so much these days.

i only post here as i take pictures for me and no-one else. i find i am my harshest critic but the good advice and cirtique i receive from this site very useful. the poty comps are an added bonus and i do them purely as fun.

I have loads of photos that I think are OK? but never see the light of day, dont seem to print any of my photos out. I tend to post into my photoblog, but thats it, occassionally extra ones on here. I keep meaning to sort a gallery on my website, but think is there any point would anyone look at it ever.

I use Flickr, but I don't often make my photos public on there, I only really use it so my other photo-loony friends can get to be notified then see my latest shots (and vice versa).

I am always a little worried about theft of my pictures, not because I want to sell them or even that they are actually really that good, just the idea of someone using them without asking makes me angry!

Google's image search is just too powerful, who knows where our photos might end up!

On here for critical feedback.

On my website for everybody else although I've just taken my old one down and am looking various ways/hosts for producing a new one, now to include a purchase option.

My work stuff gets printed in agents brochures and papers/magazines and goes onto websites.

I only tend to print for sales and if I find a blank wall in my new home that needs attention lol.

I tend to post my best shots (IMO) onto my blog, any old crap onto Flickr (mostly stuff for sharing or posting on other forums), and then stuff from my blog on here for critique and exposure.

I'm part of a small group of photographers and we tend to share ours on Snapfish, where its only us as members who can view them. It works for us as we can view similar photos we have taken and leave messages without the need to print them all off. That way when we go for a social, the alcohol is the main part of the evening rather than trying to keep the prints dry from the alcohol:lol: .

Hi,

I have galleries on PBase, Flikr, Imageshack, and Photobucket, all of which are open to public view. To be honest I normally only use Imageshack to upload pics, using Photobucket when IS is down.

Many of my pics are also posted here, on the photosharing forums.
