Satin Backdrops

Hi Everyone

I've been tasked to do some Baby/toddler photographs and am looking for some satin backdrops and throws. I'm after a variety of colours and I wondered if anyone knew of the best place to purchase them without breaking the bank.

TBH you are probably best going to the local fabric stockist in the high street.

If they've not gone bust like most of the other shops in the town centres (sorry I'm old and grumpy today)

Don't forget to try your local charity shops, they might have something you can utilise.

I wouldn't recommend Satin, think of the way it handles reflected light - it's not a pretty material to photograph, although with the right treatment it can be quite dramatic.

There's a reason why black backgrounds are often felt or velvet - to kill light and minimise reflections.

Local fabric shop.. or Dunelm Mill, Ikea, whatever you have locally. Consider curtains, bed linen, throws, etc. Fabric roll ends are often discounted.
