Ok this might have been done before but here goes.

What voice do you have on your sat nav, and do you change it like the weather or choose one and stick with it.

I have Yoda on my car one and the bike one.

A friend of mine has Ossy Osbourne on her's,!

Duh ... didn't know you could change the voice ,the woman's voice irritates me especially when i get lost :D

Tried a few, e.g. Joanna Lumley, Sean Connery but went bck to the basic womans voice (Jane on TomTom). The celeb voices are good fun for a while but never sound quite right and start to grate on my nerves after a while.

exactly the same here :)

John Cleese is on mine. Been there so long now the sat nav is usually referred to as John. I'll admit I do turn it off when within a quarter mile of home as the 'you have reached your destination...' monologue does grate as it gets repeated 3 times. I tried some of the other voices but they are all bad impressions rather than the real person like JC.

where do you find such things?

Depending on your sat nav, (I have tom toms) then you can get them from the download section on your tom tom home>

Loads to choose from, some are veryannoying as said but some are real funny just to try out

standard lady one on my garmin,as i listened to some of the celeb ones & they were crap.

John Cleese here as well.

We borrowed a tomtom earlier this year and it had C3PO's voice on it, It drove us bonkers. When we bought one a little while later we were determined to leave it as the standard female voice and we have.

As a side note, did anyone see the Royle Family on Christmas Day which had Denise getting upset because David seemed to be flirting with the satnav. :D

i wanted one of the standard voices on our TomTom, but the missus wouldnt let me, i wasnt allowed the irish lady (she sounds hot!) instead im stuck with the irish bloke who just shouts "TURN ROIND NOI!" at my constantly, its slightly unnerving!

a friend had Yoda on his and it drove me up the wall

I had John Cleese whilst I was in the UK. When I changed the map over to a Canadian one, it was the standard female TomTom voice, but I have it on mute now. I find it easier to navigate just by looking at the route than listening to someone.

My only real gripe with the JC voice is that he doesn't say "turn RIGHT!!" in a Basil Fawlty type way :(

Just the Standard Female TomTom voice - comedy SatNav voices are like comedy ring-tones on cell-phones - amusing for about 2 seconds (if that) then incredibly irritating ever after... :suspect:

Standard Garmin female voice. I use my GPS in South Africa too, and I wish "Emily" would learn to pronounce Afrikaans place/street names properly!

My wife used to navagate very well but at times it would be "turn left up here" then after you turn left it would be " no I meant the other left" meaning right:lol:

Hence the sat nav
