Daily Sarah's 365 31st December 2013 - The End! (CAN'T BELIEVE I'VE ACTUALLY FINISHED!!)

I should have taken a picture of the area, it's quite interesting. The council offices and public gardens were once a Georgian house and gardens and the area is actually really well kept, but go under the facade of the bridge & you see this.

Thanks Jim, took the camera to work today as there were loads on the budliea yesterday, but none this morning, so just happened to have it with me when I popped to visit the in-laws with Simon who'd popped home to surprise them with a visit, we ended up spending the afternoon in the garden digging out the potatoes that he couldn't do, drinking wine & photographing butterflies. Very nice.

Thanks Jim, a while ago I saw some really funky hyper real paintings of sweets, which were obviously painted from photographs, so I wanted to try to recreate that hyper real feel with a photograph, so the rock had to be perfect and the cellophane crinckled, but with no specks of dust or any faults in, so this has a couple of layers added to get the effect, then a fair amount of work with the spot removal and clone tools. I got exactly what I wanted though, so very happy with this one.

Thanks Jim, glad you like it.

Thanks Brian, I wasn't sure about this one, but it's growing on me :)

Yes, the carnival was great fun to shoot, I recommend it to anyone near Leicester next year. Brilliant atmosphere.

I have never stopped here with my camera... but just downhill from here there's a pair of buzzards that I have seen flying up and down the valley all summer - I often see one or both of them perched in the top dead branches of the lone tree that you can see from the main road.

Look out for them next time you go ;)
