Bright flower

Was going to photograph some very old dead holly leaves today, but they just seemed well, too dead. So shot this flower instead as it was much more cheerful. Another really pure white background again today.

A Gentleman of God's Company of Tabor.

Hussite Mercenaries from Bohemia.

Great group of re-enactors, made us very welcome in their camp & really knew history of the Hussites & also weaponary. Thank you for an enjoyable hour or so.

Nice few shots Sarah! Like the flower a lot. Not too keen on the river, the buildings in the back ground let it down IMO.

I wanted to include them as it's one of my local shots and the Whitworth's Mills are a big landmark in the area. Not the prettiest buildings, I agree, but it shows the location.

Thanks Jim, didn't get many decent shots, just couldn't seem to get everything set up right & get the shutter speed I wanted. but the sun was low & strong, so tricky to herd them to where the sun was in front of them & not behind!

Botanic Gardens

Had a walk round the botanic gardens in Leicester this afternoon. Such a lovely garden, has a sculpture event every year and it's free to go in.

LOL Brian, really don't think they would want this one
A group are trying to make the old part of the zoo park into a pocket park which is a good idea, but there were youths in there & some rather odd smelling smoke, if you know what I mean. So I didn't hang around in there, even though there were 3 of us. We ended up down here for this shot.
