Daily Sarah's 365 31st December 2013 - The End! (CAN'T BELIEVE I'VE ACTUALLY FINISHED!!)

Quite simple really, focus is critical, so tripod needed, I focus around the middle of the flower (in this case the deeper pink area) & the ISO is low at 100 & apeture at f16, exposure is 1 second. Then RAW file is simply processed in CS5, lifting the clarity & vibrance. Then the image is sized & then I run through NIK Effex using the detail extractor, which adds the real pop.

Lovely setting and composition - not keen on the water though and not too sure why

Thanks both, I rather like the effect, but it is a marmite thing :) Mind you, not a lot of choice as to exposure, as the sun was going down rapidly behind the bridge, although having a 9 stop filter on to exagerate it maybe didn't help :) But it's one of the reasons we go out on a Thursday as a group (well only 2 of us yesterday) is to try a few different things & experiment a bit & sometimes, it doesn't work very well, like in this case, I like the water, but not the rest of it very much :)

On a positive note, it's really shallow here and there is an old ford, so might have a location for an Ophelia shot :)

My fav has to be that magnolia.. Beautiful! I have a magnolia tree in my garden.. It's so late flowering this year

You really got down low at the River Nene - I agree that it's certainly a place worthy of another visit!

The cowslips are simply lovely! :)

Thanks Jeff, no flash used, I didn't bother taking one, just the natural light which was coming from the side/front and throught the trellis on the side of the lytch gate. Has caused a bit of lens flare top left that I will darken a bit tomorrow when I've slept off the Southern Comfort :)

Thank you, they were really lucky, it was cloudy & Peed it down in the morning & the sun came out just before the wedding.

My only real claim to a successful wedding shoot...it threw it down totally as we'd packed up and got inside having down the photos..how changeable the weather was suddenly...

Got to love a good wedding - they look very happy.

I do like today's that door looks like it's been very rustically repaired over the years :)

Gorgeous wedding shot Sarah! My fav is the door tho.... Like it alot :-)

liking the door sarah... but could you have dropped the exposure down so the interior was darker adding to the gloom and doom .. and into the light?

I like the wedding shot, but weddings aren't really my thing, so not connecting with it........great photo though.

I love Into The Light, but don't drop exposure too much as it may just look like a dark border around a burst of light and I don't think that's what you were getting at! And the stonework (particularly to the left of the door) is really interesting as well.

Camellia is beautiful.

Nice detail - love the contrasting colour

Thank you, I was having a bit of a Meh! Day & hubby told me to get my finger out & get the shot done :)

Thanks Sam, I did have a play around with it and it did lose the feeling that I wanted to get.

Camelia is just gorgeous :)

Thanks Sarah
