Daily Sarah's 365 31st December 2013 - The End! (CAN'T BELIEVE I'VE ACTUALLY FINISHED!!)

Love the splash of bright yellow amongst all those muted tones, really stands out :)

Just catching up on your last few Sarah. Your story behind the door shot made me laugh, I have went for walks with the dogs several times with the camera over my shoulder only to discover later on that the memory card is still stuck in the laptop. Nice detailed shot though. Your head down self portrait made me smile too, typical Monday morning. Love the daffodils too, great to think that spring is quickly approaching.

Phil

Thanks Phil, glad you liked them & also glad it's not just me that forgot the memory card!

Or me  Done it twice in three weeks! :(

Poor Ted looks like he's seen better days. I really like this.

Would like to see a wider crop too.

He is quite an age, he was my hubby's when he was little, so it's about 45-50 years old and about 10 years ago, one of the whippets got there teeth into him :(
Did try a wider view (this one is just about full frame apart from a little crop after I'd straightened it), but the subject got rather lost & was just too small in the frame to be the subject if you know what I mean. But he will probably be taken out again this year.

What a cute photo - the wino who doesn't drink wine! :D If I was getting old and had been mauled by a nasty old whippet, I'd be drinking something a lot more strong!

LOVE IT!!! aww bless his socks (not that he has any) He reminds me of a few of them around here and that come into the shop ....... Winos I mean not Teddy Bears - though it would not surprise me if one day one walked in with the alcohol fumes in there sometimes
Great Great shot

LOL yes, he is more of a beero than wino, but the wine bottles were a bit too big :) I did need to sedate him after the whippet attack :)

Carol, thanks & no doesn't have any socks, but has one leg rather shorter than the other, so they don't fit :(

Lovely! I really like the green coming through the bench at the bottom :D

Just seen the jug of daffodils really like that. Well set up and captured perfectly lit

Beer bear - cool!

how the heck is he going to get the lid off ?? Poor chap he is being teased :)

love it

Hahahaha love it!.... he's sooo cool!

Thanks all, glad you like him. I think he might appear a bit more over the year, Frank, yes a bit like bear behaving badly :) I might pair him up with the old velvet rabbit that was mine from when I was a baby. His is now 47 and is in a very poor state, needs a bit of darning where he's falling to bits.

That one doesn't work as well for me - nicely shot but a little too staged :)

10th January 2013

White

Simple shot today, but these are a first for me. I'm not very green fingered, I'm better at killing plants than growing them, especially house plants. But I have 2 jade plants in the conservatory, both grown from cuttings, the first one from a bit I knocked off a plant in a theatre & didn't like to leave, so bought it home and it grew!!! Amazing!!
Anyhow, around 10 years later, they've come into flower for the first time, the flowers are only about 15mm across, so tiny. So thought it would be a good challenge to try to capture them.

absolutely gorgeous  Great shot Sarah - well done :D

I should think so ... that is one gorgeous flower and if it has taken 10 years for you to get the flower then you have got some gorgeous reminders there :D

I've never seen one in flower before either Carol, you always see them in the window of Chinese restaurants etc, but just the leaves. It took a month from the buds coming up to the flower opening as well. But in the wild apparently they can grow up to 18 metres! We just have them as houseplants in this country, very strange :)

18 metres?? think we should stick with the house plants  maybe wont grow so big! All Glenn had when I moved in were Cacti and the biggest Money Plant I have ever seen (not that it has done us any good  ) so I got the garden going last year with flowers but intend to do even more this summer :)

This is a money tree as well Carol, one of the other names for a jade plant is the money tree, maybe I should try putting one in the garden & see if it gets to the full 18 metres, that's maybe when you get the money :)

That is so beautiful! Gorgeous shot.. I kill plants too lol

Really pretty, and how strange, I just commented on another thread that I am a killer of house plants :) However, things outside appear to flourish ;)
