Wasn't tonights sunset just wonderful  I love the folly/gate and I think that the processing is about right on it  also love the church one with the village pond  sorry it's been so long since my last visit :(

Church shot is nice but I much prefer that great sunset sky :)

It was the favourite on facebook as well, think people like a good sunset.

Wine Time

Public Image camera group night tonight & thanks have to go to one of the members, Simon, for having us all over & setting up the lights. Learnt a few things about lighting tonight & have ordered a new book :) Just a quick edit, this is just about straight out of camera, might just need to tweak the background.

Oh, that is nice Sarah. I really need to learn lighting. But I would rather be outside!

Very cool, BG looks pretty good to me :) My lighting book arrived just after Christmas - I have opened it but not read much else yet. I need to get some off camera triggers.

Is this two glasses or a reflection?

It's 2 glasses Sarah, we started off with a group of glasses, then someone tried them in a line & shot from the top, then I tried shooting through them & then decided to fill the back one, which worked, so then I got these glasses out to try.
Lighting was very simple, the background is a softbox on a studio flash, base is sheet of clear perspex over a white paper & then black reflector each side to define the glass.

It gives a very good effect  More things to add to my need it list :D

Haha! I wanna get some lego! The shots are always really fun, I like it.

The glass is excellent, Sarah, really well done :)

The lego shot is just inspired and very humorous! :)

Old Midland Bank

This window is in Leicester and is in the old Midland Bank building. The building itself is described in this website:

http://www.artsinleicestershire.co.uk/architecture/historic_buildings_part2.htm

It's long been a favourite with us and you can't usually see the real beauty of these windows from the outside, & it has closed now as a bank, but as we were passing this afternoon, the sun was streaming through the building and lit up this window for us.

Lovely colour tones captured there - I do like a nice bit of stained glass :)

I LOVE this one - particularly how the light shines completely through one of the windows and then less of the two above and two the side until you get to the completely unlit on the diagonal. Wonderful design on them as well! I used to work for Midland Bank (even when it actually was Midland Bank LOL) and it used to own some amazing buildings back then! :)

Anyway....now to important matters....did you get to the toy shop?:D

The light shining on it is gorgeous! Really loving the colours.

Thanks Toni

Yes, did get to the toyshop, but they didn't have any boy scouts, which is what I was after. (That really does sound wrong :) )
