weekly *Sarah* 2012 52 week challenge. Yippee I made it!!

It's very good too.

Really just depends on taste now. I would not choose one over the other as they both have merit and fulfill the theme.

Sometimes I find that I sit before the pc and one shot grabs me more than a similar other and somtimes it is hard to put into words why that is.

um, yep, definitely sans tree for me - the eye is drawn more to the height of the building and it just looks 'cleaner' to me  thanks for putting the 2nd one up :)

Thank you Alan and Summer, I've just added done a quick edit of the original to throw in the bag!!:):)

aarrrgghhhhh I'm falling...heh - really loving this week's theme

Sure do but would you believe that they have had scaffold and shroud around the middle bit for 18 months :( and i keep wanting to get some sunset shots back at the prom but no good if the Tower outline is not correct:bang:

My parents live in Blackpool and I keep waiting for the tower to be unveiled!! You could try hiding it with a tree!!:lol:

I keep thinking there must be a photo to be made from those big black leafy things on the prom as well - will have to try on one of our next visits!!:)

I now can't make my mind up. I like the starkness of the white and wonderfully saturated blue but I also like the addition of the tree as it provides an extra sense of looking up.

It's a shame we weren't down there tonight as there was a lovely pink sky.

#2 for me. Like the angle and I don't get the inclusion of the tree branches, personally. If they was along the top maybe, but as it is not for me.

The branches do seem popular, though.

Cheers.

I think I prefer the tree version. Without the tree it's just kind of blue and white and the tree adds rather than takes away if you get my meaning.

Hi Sarah

just how cute is your teddy...lovely n soft , the fur really stands out , kinda makes me think I could reach in & feel how soft it is, possibly a tad dark to the RHS but overall the lighting is wonderful

Liquid....just to be different ,I'm not sure about this one . I like the partial reflection , the idea & the white BG , maybe a smidge more light on the fruit slice ( not enough to become the focus as thats the liquid , just a smidge)

UP....cracker....nice clean lines , great angle & wonderfully blue sky , 2nd posted image for me , less glare & seems sharper on my screen

Thank you all for your comments, it's been a very busy week but I will try and catch up with all yours over the next few nights!

I decide to go with the original as I liked the added green and that you were looking up through the tree!:)

Hi, Sarah, Duo, well done. The pink really pops especially against the green background. Reminds me of Wall-E clicky linky

So, crit, main thing for me is LH flower that appears a tad OOF, especially at the bottom.

The RH Gerbera is a cracker, though.

I, too, have opted for the Latin translation, either that or grab a busker for a duet :D

Cheers.

Hi Sarah :)

Body - Excellent detail on what ever it is, love the colours too, the pollen is really bright on it's 'body' ... real nice shot !!!

Liquid - As usual I like your lighting, and the reflection in the shot is nice, great even background sets the bright liquid off nicely

Soft re-shoot - For a dark bear on a dark background Very well lit indeed, great detail and nice catchlights

Up - What a cracking shot, and a surprisingly clear sky, pov is really nice, and plenty of converging lines. but hate to say it again, with such a bold building and clear sky I think the tree has to go as it messes too much with the sharp lines :)

<EDIT> Just saw other shot... YEP without tree for me

Duo - Nice vivid colours of the flowers on a great background, chosen crop works well too - Bang On :)

nice duo pic don't see the out of focus thing myself a tad harsh, love the colour excellent bg too, its simple but effective

ahh clever girl  loving that :) I think your thread is my favourite

Lovely colours in the flowers. Liking the background too, Andy has mentioned the oof bit, looks like that part of the flower was a little closer to the camera.

Thanks Andy and Michael, it was taken at f5.6 so will be the DOF!

Hi Sarah

Duo - nice comp and colours. I like partic the way that the stems are almost the same colour as the background and yet stand out because of the slightly hairy nature of the gerbera stem. good choice for theme.

Hi Sarah,

Duo is lovely:clap: I hadn't noticed the right hand flower being a tad OOF. The crit is getting really fine tuned now:gag: The DOF is superb and like Alan says the hairy stems help them stand out from the background:thumbs:

Thank you Alan and Marsha, the crit is def fine tuned!!:) I was worried when I set it up in the garden that the grass would be too bright a green but it seems to complement the stems nicely!!

Hi Sarah, I'm desparately trying to catch up here, so if I've missed some of your shots, I apologise :(

Up is great, with a nice angle of view resulting in lovely lines, and it's nicely exposed. I do wonder though if it might be better with the bottom floors cropped off to leave just the very simple lines of the upper floors?

Duo, wow! Very simple take on the theme, which works supremely well; I love it!

Very nice image. You've been able to make the colours pop without going too overboard.

Duo - like that a lot - the fact that the flowers are ad different size adds to the pic IMHO

Hi Sarah

lovley fresh colorful image for Duo , Gerbera's are wonderful props & your image shows why  Great DOF & wonderful BG color , white whites...framed & on the wall for this one....the type of image that makes you feel...happy ...well it makes me feel happy anyway

pe....HAVE YOU SEEN...

Thanks Mark, no prob if you have missed any of mine - I've missed tons recently and am finding it difficult enough to get the photo taken each week and am miles behind comments!!

Flow

I've really had to push myself this week to get a photo taken for the theme and have to give Peter a big thank you for pushing me this week!:)

It's not my original idea but is a much easier option - far from perfect and maybe one for a reshoot week!
