weekly *Sarah* 2012 52 week challenge. Yippee I made it!!

Sarah,

Temperature - I like the close crop, too. I find the bright light reflecting in the rim a tiny bit distracting but it's a very minor thing.

Good work Sarah, the composition and colour tones all come together to make a very pleasing image. A literal take on the theme but an interesting one nonetheless. Iain

A big Thank you to all the above comments and they have been taken on board!! Once again I must apologise for not popping in and commenting on your threads but it has been a busy few weeks, I will try and get to visit you all this week!!:):)

Wonderful set Sarah, the last is sublime I think. The texture, colour and shadow just works beautifully. ;)

Sarah apologies for not getting round in the last couple of weeks

Temperature , cracking take on the theme, and the DOF works really well

Abstract - got to be the last one for me as well, the pastel colours and the texture in the petals work really well

Hi Sarah, many apologies but I'm about 10 weeks behind here so desperately trying to play catch up, both with comments and my own submissions.

Random - loving the colours and lighting in the strawberries shot. For me the 1st of the set is the pick.

Leave - bang on theme and such a wonderful shot, love it.

Temperature - again on theme but for me it seems a tad dark, unless it's my lappy screen.

Abstract - certainly no.3 of what is a fantastic set.

I don't like 3 at all - how taste varies huh? I love no. 1 but my own personal take on abstract involves strong colours so I think on that basis I will select no.2 as my fave for this theme :)

Thanks Alby!
 They're all superb but I prefer number three for the purity of it!

I've bought some flowers to try some abstract shots on! Although they won't be anywhere near as good as yours!

I'm sure they will be Marsha, I've seen your bluebell shots tonight!!:)

Vote #2
Don't like wishy washy - just a personal thing.
All good and thought provoking though.

Thanks Mike, personal choice is good, I must admit I'm tied between 1 and 2 and I'm surprised that most people have gone for 3!!

Thanks Summer, as above 1 and 2 are my favourites!!

I've tried! I got one I might post, but macro is frustrating me, I think I need to ask for tips in the macro section:thinking:
Thanks for commenting on my Bluebells, I'll get round to that thread tomorrow.

Oh I went to Ikea yesterday, I remembered as we were nearly leaving about getting a piece of glass for photography! I'm sorted for if/ when I wish to try some water drop stuff again!!!

I'm hoping to have a go at water droplets this week!

I agree macro is very frustating but also addictive!!:) If I can help in any way let me know - I'm no expert but I might be able to help!! And go on lets see your shot!!:)

Wow, how do I choose?

I love all of those. I think your last one is possibly the weakest, but still good. I'm going to go for number two though; it's a stunner!

Hi Sarah

Random - #1 is good but a little cropped at the top for me. #2 has excellent pov and focus. Lovely colour rendition. #3 does nothing for me i am afraid and does not have the impact and quality of the other 2.

Temperature - good idea. - good focus and background. i like the crop but woul like to have a little less shadow on the right.

Abstract ; all good (except for #4 which doesn't have impact to me) #1 would be my choice because i like those pure whites and very hard to expose and keep good colour. Good composition.

Hi Sarah

Abstract - I'm really liking the first one, and am torn between that and the third, the second shot is not far off either, a real good set !!!!

Ok... another vote for 3

Thanks Dean!:)

Thanks Alan, #1 is my personal favourite as well but I wasn't to sure whether it covered "abstract" as well, I've struggled with my understanding of Abstract this week!:)

That's a super set Sarah - I'm finding it hard to chose a preference. They all fit the abstract theme using similar subjects but all have different qualities about theme. Well worth the effort in taking these.

Thanks Peter, but thats no help in helping me decide which to go for,:lol: though #3 seems to be the most popular on here at the moment!!:)

If you are forcing me to chose then I'll go for #1. It's almost monochromatic feel and sheer simplicity really works for me.

#1 is lovely, like it alot. Good ideas for abstract. Its a theme that could be so widely interpreted so interesting seeing what everyone has got up to.

Thanks Alex and Peter!!:)

Hi, Abstrac..

#1...lovely whites and nice and dreamy photograph
#2... not keen on this one, it's a bit wide and not abstracty  enough for me
#3..best of the set for me. Great textures, muted colours and lighting. Just the lower right's a OOF and draws me away from the more interesting upper section.

Cheers.

Now I like number four, I looked at that on Flickr! I think it's the colours with the sharp green edge against the purple back ground.

But I'm still LOVING number one. I can see that framed in a bedroom somewhere, it's very calming.

Oh and I've posted my flower shots.

500px? Dare I ask, is this another forum?

Thanks Andy, I know what you mean about the bottom right of #3, I think the only way I could get round it would be to try focus stacking!:)

Thanks Marsha, #1 is my favourite as well but couldn't decide if pastel would be ok for abstract!:)

I'll pop over and look at your flower shots shortly, like Michael said post your link for 500px and I'll add you as well:)
