Hi,

Whats the best way to get the most out of your money at the moment in Santorini?

Cash or just use your card (Debit or credit?)

its pretty much allways the best way to use a fee free debit card such as revolut
thats what martin lewis said a few months ago, you then get the banks conversion rate
which is allways much better than the local one.

I have a Halifax Clarity credit card which I only use abroad. No fees, no transaction charge and a decent exchange rate. I clear it once the bill comes and have never paid any interest other than if I have drawn cash out.

Depends what you'll be spending on and where. Cash can get significant discounts in some places.

I always use a FairFX currency card. It is a pre-pay card that you 'load' money on to and the exchange rates are usually pretty good.

I used to. But you don’t earn interest on the money you have put into it, so it’s better to use my regular Starling Bank debit card.

I don't think about earning interest as I just load the card for a particular trip, then transfer any residual funds back to my bank (where I do earn interest, albeit tiny amounts). I don't pre-load the card with masses of funds and just leave it in there as that's not what they are designed for (that's what my bank is for).

Thanks for the replies
I usually just use a debit card and withdraw any cash from a bank cashpoint.

Just wanted to be sure this was the best case for Santorini

TBH, I'd make sure I had enough cash for a couple of days in case the Greek electrical system (or, indeed their banks...) went down for a while. There may well be places that don't accept card payments too.
