6ft is plenty viewing distance - get it out and get it broken in!
No-one likes a teaser. :D

BTW, "santas come early"? Err....there was more than one that came?
No capital S, no apostrophe - that's another nail in the coffin of Western Civilisation!!

In the states they would actually spell it "civilization", which is more west than here. And why a capital letter on that and "western"? If you're going to try and be clever or pedantic, don't mess it up. You look silly.

Nice lens OP, not a canon man, but a good lens is a good lens ;)

States starts with a capital s, FWIW.
As for WC - can be written with either capitals or without, both are correct.
Regarding z or s - given we use British English, I think I'll stick with the s.
I also don't see how the US can claim to be the sole rights holder to the term West/Western - the UK and Ireland, as well as many European mainland countries are also lumped in with the term.

No cleverness nor pedanticism being exuded, just a bit of jovial banter.
I'll send you a Whooosh! parrot for Christmas - what's you're address down there? :D

Here's one I made earlier (but not Blue Peter fashion) - http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q299/elevy_bucket/gif/b04f26b7.jpg

And "states" doesn't require a cap.

Oh, and it does, when it's a contraction of United States of America - hence why you'll see it written as "the States".
Anyway, enough English grammar, back to the subject matter in hand.

So Chris, where's the pics from this new lens you were so desperately eager to show us, as if we'd forgotten what a lens looks like? :D

Their on they're way.off to york on sunday for the xmas market and ice sculptures. only played about wiv it up to now but so far it's as sharp as a sharp thing.

i hate it when grandma nazis derail threads. there comment's dont help The Thread one bit.

Nice lens OP. I spent ages deciding between the 24-70 and the 24-105. The 24-70 won out simply because of the f2.8. But its a great lens ! Enjoy.

When I get a new toy like that and want to post a thread about it the last thing on my mind is to make sure the grammer is correct. Not everybody on here has English as their first language anyway. Congrats on your new lens, I got one with a 5D MkII that I bought last year and I've since sold the body to get a 5D MkIII but I've still got the lens. It's a terriffic lens and you'll love using it.

Oh my, the irony is strong in this one!

You're more than welcome to skip on past posts that don't meet your exacting standards.
Don't think it's a forum rule that you must read every post and/or agree with them.

Then again, maybe you're a just fuddy duddy who doesn't do banter, and likes to mutter "Bah humbugs!" at everything that doesn't meet with your approval?

And if you thought your spelling mistakes and grammar were going to have you pulled for them - no mission, you've misjudged the situation and were far too obvious.

Sounds promising.
Be interesting to see what you capture at the market & ice sculpting.

see what I did there?

Yes, yes, but it wasn't as good as Hodders' - you earned a respectable 7/10.
He managed to slip in a grandma, so that netted him a bonus point.
