pretty simple one, as the title suggests!

so what would any of you recommend?

many thanks in advance

You don't need to spend a fortune on a card reader that's for certain If you are looking at spending more than about £10 you are looking at the wrong thing....

Just search on ebuyer, scan, amazon, play etc..... speed isn't super crucial copying to your pc as it's only going to mean an extra minute or so, unlike the speed of your card which can mean getting the shot or not because the buffer is full..

I heard one of the lexars wouldnt read one of the card types, you had any problems and what cards do you use jayeshpp?

Why use a card reader? Just plug your camera in!

because it means having the camera turned on, hence draining the battery... My personal reason is that I often have the laptop on my knee or something and don't like having the camera sitting beside me in case I knock it over so always use a card reader...

Just a cheap usb 2.0 one will do the job completely fine, especially since it's only an ultra 2 card.

7dayshop have got their own branded one at buy one get on free for £3.50 inc postage at the moment - bargain!

usb 2.0, high speed,
most of them should do the trick. I would go cheapish, but not dirt cheap as the build quality and speed might suffer. no point in buying something for 2-3 quid if it breaks in your bag a week later

I don’t see the point in getting a fast card reader. If it take 15sec or 1min do it matter that much?
I have built in card reader in my Tower works fine
AS for using the camera I see the point on using battery also you keep plugging in and as the plug is so small I like to do that as little as possible
Just my view

I use Sandisk cards and got one of Jessops own make readers and it works perfectly well.

Depends how many cards you are bringing home! 64gb of raw files can take almost 4 hours to copy, or 30 mins...

Go for the Lexar Pro from mymemory.com... 20 quid delivered, goes like greased weasel poo!
